15 Event Planning Job Boards to Find Top Talent

Looking to hire an event marketer for your company? Maybe you need a set of extra hands to manage your event? Or maybe you’re just looking to hire someone to design a sweet event logo? If you’re looking to hire talent for your next event, you have options. While you technically could place an ad in the classifieds of your local paper, or reach out to your network, at some point you will likely end up searching on the internet.

Below you’ll find a list of job boards for searching for top event industry talent. These job boards are broken down into three categories: Event Industry Job Boards, Marketing Industry Job Boards, and Freelance Job Boards. We’ll continue to update this post as new resources come to light.

Note: Although this post is intended for employers, event industry job seekers will also find it to be extremely useful as well.

Event Industry Job Boards

If you’re looking for event industry talent, one of the first places you should look are event industry-specific job boards. They’re self-selecting, meaning you are more likely to find event talent suited to your needs. These job boards are pulled from event associations, event news websites, and dedicated event talent outlets.

1. MPI

Meeting Professionals International is the largest event association in the world. Their robust job board features event talent from across the world. In addition to posting jobs and waiting for candidates to come to them, employers can also comb through a wide variety of resumes to find the event professional they’re looking for.

2. PCMA

The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) is another one the biggest event planning associations out there. Not only do they produce events and offer certifications, they also feature a robust job board for event professionals.

3. Event Industry News

Event Industry News is one of the foremost event industry publications in Europe and the world. They’re founder Adam Parry has dedicated the publication to covering the latest in event tech and happenings. For employers based out of Europe, we strongly recommend checking this one out.

4. EventCareers.com

Provided by the event publication Event Marketer, Event Careers is a great job board for those who are looking for talent in North America. Employers can pay to post jobs or purchase resumes to review.

5. Event Job Search

This UK job site is powered by the renowned Event Magazine UK and Conference & Incentive Travel (CIT). In addition to the robust job board, the site also offers a board for recruiters, giving employers the option of finding someone to help source the ideal candidates.

6. Teamwork Online

It’s time to get sporty. TeamWorkOnline.com is a job board site dedicated to live events and to sport event careerists. Their database boasts over 1,000 organizations, over 2,000 active jobs. Employers can post job by category, title, location, and more. They pride themselves on matching great talent with great jobs.

7. Meeting Jobs

Meeting Jobs has been helping employers find temporary and permanent meeting professional talent for over 20 years. They’re website consists of a comprehensive job board, and webinars and products geared toward connecting employees with great candidates.

 

Marketing Job Boards

When it comes to hiring event industry talent, it pays to hire people with a background in marketing. After all, the modern day business event strategist has to deal with social media, website building, email marketing, copywriting, demand generation and more. The below job boards are perfect for finding great event marketers to add to your team.

8. AMA

The American Marketing Association (AMA) is one of the largest associations for marketers in the United States. In addition to providing numerous networking events, scholarly journals, and speeches, the AMA also has a job board dedicated to marketing positions. The best part is that you don’t even need to be an AMA member to take advantage of this.

9. Mashable

You may know that Mashable is a global, multi-platform media and entertainment platform known for their often humorous reporting on real issues. But did you know that they are also home to a robust marketing job board? (They are.) Post jobs and find awesome marketing talent across the world.

10. Inbound.org

In addition to providing a stellar marketing automation platform, Hubspot also produces the Inbound Conference, hosts the Inbound Community, and provides the Inbound Job Board. All of these platforms and services are geared to marketers. Those who are looking to hire event marketing talent are almost sure to find some pretty great talent here. While you’re on the site, take a second to join the Inbound Community and expand your marketing network.

Freelance Job Boards

Your talent needs aren’t always going to be permanent. Sometimes you just need assistance in designing a logo, setting up your event, or building a great looking event website. The below freelance job boards are all online talent marketplaces that are great for finding all sorts of temporary talent to fit your event planning needs.

11. Upwork

Upwork features thousands of freelancers with expertise in marketing, website development, and graphic design, among other categories. Since freelancers work around the globe, they can even work while you catch some Z’s. To find talent, you simply post a job and then wait until candidates apply. Otherwise you can search for candidates and ask them to apply to an open position proactively. The platform uses data science to help you search for the right talent for your needs and will send you a shortlist of candidates that might work perfectly for your needs.

12. Fiverr

Fiverr is in many ways similar to Upwork. The chief difference is that the majority of the services on Fiverr start at $5 and then go up from there. Additionally, freelancers are listed as Level 1, Level 2, or Top Rated Sellers so you have a good idea of the level of skill that you’re getting for your buck. The sky is truly the limit when it comes to finding the talent that you need. Digital marketing assistance, programming implementation, and video editing are all par for the course.

13. TaskRabbit

Taskrabbit is your go-to marketplace for assistance in setting up or cleaning an event. Much of the talent here is great for simple chores and handiwork, however you can also find freelancers with knowhow in event planning, and event decorating as well. You can either peruse the profiles of different Taskers until you find one that suits your needs, or Quick Assign your job to TaskRabbit and have them choose talent for you.

14. Shyp

Need something delivered in a pinch? Shyp is an on-demand courier to help you get your stuff from point A to B. The company was created by an eBay Powerseller who knew the frustrations of scrounging up shipping materials and sending off packages. Shyp takes care of all of your pickup, packaging, and shipping rate needs. It’s perfect for event booth materials, promotional pamphlets, or swag.

15. Craigslist

Craiglist may have garnered a shady reputation, but it’s still a proven medium for finding talent. If you do decide to go the Cragislist route make sure that you provide a detailed description of the job role and expectations, in addition to a link to your company site. Make it as easy as possible for people to determine that your job posting is legitimate. While you’re at it, be sure to post frequently, as older posts will get buried underneath newer ones.

When looking to fill an event role, you have options. Event industry boards will give you the most specialized event talent, while marketing job boards are a great place to find event marketers, and freelance job boards will help you fill an immediate need. Whatever your event talent needs may be, there’s a board for that.
